The Understory installation was a commission for WayHome Music & Arts Festival that I worked under Nathan Whitford (Urban Visuals) creating a number of generative visuals scenes. The projections spanned a length of ~300 feet on tree hedge. We also were using three 22,000 lumen projectors.
The Understory consisted of ~70 unique visual pieces which animated and morphed based on a number of customizable variables that we coded into the application. These variables were controlled by a iPad app which was able to be controlled around the festival grounds.
My roll consisted of creating new visual scenes to be projected, updating the iPad app to increase the number of customizable configurations available, added the ability to save, save and load three variable presets for each scene, and help setup, watched over and maintained the installation during the festival and helped to dismantle the installation.
